After Operation Zap – September 9, 1972
Sept. 24 – Paddles Campaign Canoe. Senator John H. Chafee, with two of his sons and a seasoned guide, paddled his campaign canoe down three miles of the Blackstone from Cumberland to Pawtucket in a post-Zap inspection. He found the new condition “terrific”.
